No Age, Rats, Geisha Girls and More Cover Classic L.A. Artists In Haiti Benefit Album

On January 12, 2010, the island nation of Haiti was struck by a massive 7.0 earthquake, killing over 200,000 people. A year and a half later, the quake has left a dramatic impact on the people of Haiti, who are still recovering from the disaster. The good folks at Narnack and Greaterminds Records have collaborated to release “Beat L.A.”; A benefit compilation of contemporary local (Los Angeles County) artists covering classic punk, rock, and comedic L.A. artists.

“We’ve managed to pull together an amazing cross-section of underground music in Los Angeles and are excited that this compilation will be a true document of our music scene,” said Toddrick Spalding of Narnack Records one of the curators of the album.

Beat L.A. consists of bands like No Age,Geisha Girls, Crystal Antlers, Rats, Signals, Angus Khan and 16 other amazing artists covering legendary L.A. bands like X, Gun Club, The Doors, Christian Death, The Go-Gos, The Germs, and even Cheech and Chong.

Here is the complete track listing of the album which will be released on July 26. Proceeds of the album will be donated to Doctors Without Boards, who have saved lives in Haiti since the disaster first struck.
